With what did Jesus feed the crowd of 4,000 men?…
Educate, Educate, Educate
Wednesday’s at IMN Radio is dedicated to Mental Health. Today on the Morning Drive I’ll have the privilege of having a very special guest on the show. He is an awesome, intelligent, and compassionate young man that has a heart for helping others. I truly love his spirit. As we were discussing mental health, I asked a question. That question was “Since the Mental Health system has failed in so many ways, what are some things we can do to help ourselves and our communities? His response was Educate!
Immediately I agreed, because this is not something that we do. We as a people don’t like talking about issues like this because there has been such a stigma put on it. But if we take the time to do a little reading everyday, then we can help ourselves or other family members that may be dealing with mental illness. Another thing he said was, “you have to put your feelings of the matter on the back burner. You have to deny self in order to help someone in need. This world has become so self focused, that it seems impossible to do that.
We must educate ourselves so that the miseducation that we’ve received can be put to rest. We need community centers in our neighborhoods that have forums where residents can come out and talk openly without being judged or labeled, about this issue. We can learn alot from a person that is going through it, we just have to be willing to learn.
Today we are “Taking The Labels Off”, and we are having a conversation. I would like to say a very special thanks to Mr. Troy Scott for all of your expertise you’ve given on this matter. It was truly an honor to have you.
Tune in to the Morning Drive every Monday, Wednesday & Friday 6am-8am only on IMN Radio.
